Desert Visions

Leaving Asheville, North Carolina, I had moved out to New Mexico in 2003. The high desert and the mountains surrounded me. The desert became the back drop and staging for many artistic ideas that came my way, be it a thought out of the blue or the serendipity of an intriguing thumbnail sketch in my sketchbook.. For about 17 years I lived and painted in New Mexico, while living in Madrid, Pena Blanca, and off grid in the desert.

The spirit of the desert had gotten under my skin. The desert became the setting, the stage, upon which I would create my visions.
